THANK YOU!
As Fall approached in Federal Way preparations were underway for the Federal Way Community Caregiving Network’s 24th year holding their “Souper Supper” fundraiser dinner to support our mission of helping families stay in their homes, stave off hunger and provide some of the necessities that most people take for granted.
It was in 2000 when the first “Souper Supper” was held at Steel Lake Presbyterian Church with a variety of soups donated by several restaurants in Federal Way and that continued yearly at Steel Lake Presbyterian, with one year at Sahalie Middle School, until the last year at Steel Lake Presbyterian in 2016 when the church was sold.
The “Souper Supper” was moved to the Christian Faith Center starting in 2017, with the continued tradition of a variety of soups donated by Federal Way restaurants through 2019, when covid, which affected us all, resulted in the postponement of the “Souper Supper” in 2020 & 2021.
In 2022 the “Souper Supper” returned! Again, being held at the Christian Faith Center. Although there was a slight change with the basic meal of soup, salad and bread now being catered by the Café Pacific, with desserts donated by Federal Way Costco, Twin Lakes Fred Meyer and QFC for the last 4 years and still remains a welcome event to many who have attended for years, with new attendees every year, who are welcomed wholeheartedly.
The warmth, comradery and generosity of our churches, businesses, organizations, government and community benefactors have made this annual event a welcome tradition and we again thank all of those who have donated to our cause, it is greatly appreciated. $44,015.54 was raised at this event that will assist many in need in our community. Donations can still be made on this website. Follow our website for information regarding next year’s 25th “Souper Supper”.
